The rhubarb came from 'regular park user' Barbara's garden... it has a good reference as being red and tasty.
On Tuesday, we were offered some garden rhubarb, before the area was turfed over this morning.
We rescued over 13 pieces, with some to give away, and speedily prepared a bed across the path from the soft fruit aisle.
This has good soil, full of worms, overlying clay. We have added some milk bottle tops to help us water the roots.
We used the spare turf to mark out an area for potential raised beds too.
