A few updates

Sunday afternoon jobs included

We hope this will be a good place for visiting people sharing a sandwich at lunchtimes when the club hut isn't open. We have moved it under the shade of the trees but it is quite light to carry into the sun - if you are a bit of a 'lizard' (I think they like to bask in the sun?).

Picking up a new picnic table from a Freecycle donator - just needed a bolt fixing.

Some dwarf sunflowers germinating in a narrow bed - planted close because we assume we will lose some to slugs - unless the visiting hedgehogs get them first

Lots of weeding, mowing and edging, ready for the final seed sowing in narrow beds.

Our slow rot bins - they should be good creature habitats too

Writing signs.

Two patches of alpine strawberries, grown from seed this Spring - so they are very small. Last year similar seeded plants did well in the Rock Road LIbrary garden though...

Planting.

We are piling up earth from the second veg ditch by the Minibeast mansion - this will eventually be turfed at the sides - and we can plant into that too.

Moving earth.

On Tuesday afternoon, we also started a sunflower bed by one of the hatstands and used the turf on the Minibeast Mansion.
